Viking has formed a strategic partnership with former Labroy Marine co-founders, Tan Boy Tee and Chan Kwan Bian.
The former, Mr Tan Boy Tee has took up Viking new shares and has about 5 percent stake, with an option to exercise its option of the same amount in the next 90 days.
Similarly, Mr Tan Boy Tee also took up 10m of Ezion, which is another O&G company for $12.64 millions.
Surely, Viking can leverage on Mr Tan expertise in the
O&G sector and with the injection of new funds and new shareholder, 2014 will be an exciting year for Viking.

VIKING PARTNERS LABROY’S CO-FOUNDER TO ENTER RIG BUILDING AND RIG CHARTER MARKET
Singapore, 4 November 2013 – Viking Offshore & Marine Limited (“Viking” or “the Group”) announced today that it has entered into an agreement to place out 40 million new shares worth S$3.2 million to Singaporean rig building veteran Mr Tan Boy Tee (“Mr Tan”) plus an option of the same quantity and amount, to be exercised any time during the next 90 days.
Mr Tan was the co-founder and controlling shareholder of Labroy Marine Ltd, a then-SGX listed offshore and marine specialist which was sold to Dubai Drydocks World LLC for S$2.4 billion in January 2008.
With this share subscription, Mr Tan will become a substantial shareholder of Viking. If he exercises the option, his shareholding will represent 10.1% of the enlarged issued and paid-up share capital of the Company, which will be approximately 793 million shares.
Mr Andy Lim, the Chairman and Executive Director of Viking, said, “We are glad to have the support of Mr Tan Boy Tee as we venture into the fast-growing rig building and rig charter market. His international reputation, track record, corporate experience and strategic connections, particularly in the offshore and marine industry, will help Viking capture significant new opportunities.”
